Pastor Anniversary Month | Pastor Appreciation Month

Pastor Anniversary or Pastor Appreciation month is recognized annually in the month of October for all pastors of all faiths. It is a good practice to celebrate our spiritual leaders and teachers as they provide spiritual insight and revelation to and about our earthly lives. The work of a pastor is time consuming and at times extremely difficult due to the demanding schedule that is placed on many pastors. Many people may think that a pastors life is all glitz and glamour. This is not the case for true men of God that believe their mission in life is to help lost souls through biblical and Godly teaching. For this reason we celebrate our Bishops, Pastors, Co- Pastors, Evangelist during the entire month of October.

During the month of October members of all churches should honor their spiritual leaders for their commitment God and to the local church they serve. Many churches have a pastor's anniversary or a pastor's appreciation service where the church assembled for a annual church service dedicated entirely for the pastor. This event can be scheduled for one of the Sundays in the month of October or some churches elect to celebrate their leaders the entire month dedicating each week to their pastor. Whether you have a one day celebration or you celebrate the entire month I'm sure your pastor will be encouraged to continue the mission God has called him to do.

In writing about the pastor anniversary and the pastor appreciation I often see the argument that pastor should not be celebrated. On many occasions I've read statements that it is not biblical to honor, celebrate or appreciate a pastor. In the bible I read it is clearly noted in Thessalonians 5:12 which reads: And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. [And] be at peace among yourselves. Another scripture reference in the bible is Hebrews 13:17 which states: Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. Now, in the day, time and society we live in we have introduced many traditions in our culture, faith and religion. We celebrate our pastors just as we celebrate our birthdays, weddings, retirements or any good thing to celebrate over. I believe this is where the idea of the celebration comes from. As human beings we have adopted the celebration aspect from parties, events, graduations, achievements and anything that is good. Well, I believe salvation is a good thing and by following the pastors teaching and spiritual advice only makes me a better person.

Pastor appreciation month in my opinion is a good thing! Every year I use to watch the Academy awards (the Oscars) of which famous actors are celebrate for how they portrayed a fictitious person. Fictitious means as stated on dictionary.com: created, taken, or assumed for the sake of concealment; not genuine; false: imaginatively produced or set forth; created by the imagination. So my argument here is that as a society we can celebrate actors that portray fake imagined people but not real people who do real things all year long. As I recall reading an article there are many actors that receive millions of dollars for what they do. I am not trying to discredit the movie industry in any way as I enjoy movies just like everyone else. I am in fact making a strong point that we should celebrate and appreciate those who spiritually guide us, teach us and pray for us all the time. The job of a pastor is pray for, watch over and teach the congregation, members and or followers as he/she communes with God the Father. In my opinion this is one of the greatest task that anyone could ever accept.

Pastor appreciation month was primarily designed to encourage the pastor for all the laborious work he/she does on a daily basis. If you ever have free time ask your pastor to tag along with him as he goes and do ministry work. You will see that he/she visit the hospital visiting the sick and shut in, counsels individuals, counsels the married, perform funerals and weddings, prepares weekly sermons for the congregation, teaches bible study, prays to God on a daily basis and watches over an entire church of people. being a pastor is not as easy as one may think, it is a very time consuming job to say the least. I encourage everyone to look at appreciating your pastor in a different light not the glitz and glamour that most people associate with being a pastor. It takes hard work and perseverance to be a n effective pastor. It takes great integrity to walk with God on a daily basis! Therefore, I salute all pastors of the faith and I encourage them to continue doing the work of the Lord. Happy Pastor's Appreciation Month to all Pastors!

Pastor Anniversary Gifts Pastor Appreciation Gifts

One of the most important things you can do in life is to give - it is better to give than receive in any case and this principle is a prime example of Christ giving his life on Calvary for our sins. This article will help you determine how you should celebrate your pastor and spiritual leaders for their teachings and insight into the spirit world. This teaching is so critical as it prepares you for the life-after this fleshly life.

First, you may attend a church that celebrates the pastor through what is called a pastor anniversary. On the contrary, you may attend a church that celebrates the pastor through a pastor appreciation. Both the anniversary and appreciation are one in the same but they have very two different meanings. Dictionary.com defines the word anniversary as the yearly recurrence of the date of a past event. The church may have a specific date or time frame that they celebrate the pastor each year and this celebration is always annually.

If you attend a church that celebrate the pastor through appreciation this may be slightly different. To appreciate someone it simply means: to be grateful or thankful for: to value or regard highly; place a high estimate on. Pastor appreciation may be celebrated during the month of October during Pastor Appreciation Month. But, this type of celebration may not be celebrated on an annual basis. Some churches celebrate their pastor fo an entire month while other churches celebrate their pastor by having a pastor appreciation day. May I stress this point to you now, you do not have to wait for any special or planned day. You can celebrate the man or woman of God anytime you feel lead to do so.

Pastor Anniversary & Pastor Appreciation Gifts
The question always arise what to give your pastor for his appreciation or anniversary celebration. Before deciding on a gift it is really good to know your pastors taste in things or what he really likes and may desire. In most cases people always resort to money as the only resort but I challenge you to look for a gift that you can present to your pastor or spiritual leader. A visa or master card gift card is a good choice so the pastor may go and actually shop for something. Here are a few things to consider as gifts for the pastor whether for personal giving or collectively giving from the church as a whole.

  1. A Paid Vacation
  2. Gift Card (Visa, MC, Amex, Discover
  3. Plaque, Trophy or Award
  4. Fine Dinning for Two
  5. Biblical Study Reference Books - not a bible
  6. New Ministers Robe
  7. Flat Screen TV - for the office
  8. Update the Parsonage or Living Quarters
  9. Ipad, Laptop or Notebook
  10. New Business Cards
  11. New Car - Transportation
  12. New Suits, Ties, Cuff links, Shoes
  13. Gym Membership, Golf Membership
  14. Sporting, Concert or Event Tickets
  15. New Cell Phone and Plan
This is just a sampling of the things you can give as gifts to your spiritual leader. Another great gift you can give is your time. Ask the pastor if he/she needs help in completing some task or if you can go with him/her for the day to assist him while working in the field.  Giving a helping hand can go a long with and will be greatly appreciated.

Last, always include the spouse of the pastor. By including the spouse you can get first hand information of any likes and dislikes in his or her taste. The spouse is a great resource for information as no one knows them better than the spouse. You can generate a list on paper of questions for sizes, colors, likes, dislikes and desires. The spouse can simply fill it out the question-are and return it without the pastor even knowing. This is a great tactic that can be utilize to get the information that is need to present your pastor with a great assortment of gits that celebrate him or her.

This is a great way to document the event and have an excellent tribute that the entire congregation can enjoy. Pastor Appreciation Banquet Dinner

A great idea to go along with your pastor appreciation service would be to have a Pastor Appreciation Banquet. This event would allow the congregation to have a formal night out of dinning and activities. Many people love the idea of getting dressed up in their finer things and attending a gala event. However, this will take some skillful planning by the pastoral committee or a group of people that can plan the event and that work well together.

First, its probably a good idea to find the venue where the event will take place. Fine dinning is somewhat costly and that goes the same for elegance. It is best to go out and actually visit a few places that you may know of or have researched on the internet. This research can be done in Google simply by searching for "fine dinning" and placing the city name immediately following your search term. Here is an example: fine dinning Los Angeles, fine dinning Dallas, fine dinning New York or dining hall in Washington dc. This will yield you the results you are looking for and give you a great place to start your search.

Next, after you carefully select a dinning venue its best to start with the food selections. This is a great task as there will be many people attending and everyone has different taste. May i suggest a broad range of food styles that will compliment everyone's taste. That can be accomplished by having a buffet with H'ors deurves or a sampling table of food before the main course. Let me tell you now that food can very expensive and the dinning hall will try their best to get every dime thet can for your event. May I suggest that you sharpen your negotiating skills before meeting with the dinning hall coordinators. May I also suggest that you do not have more than three main courses as this will definitely extend your budget. Keep it simple by having a form of fish, a chicken entree and some form of beef entree. You can have a little fun with the sides as to make things really entertaining and fun. Just remember this is the main area where the dinning hall can make the most money and things can go over budget.

Dessert: to keep things extremely simple it is best to have a cake made for the occasion and professionally decorated by a cake decorator. Along with that you can have the standard coffee and tea as dessert beverages along with ice water. Just having one cake made as the main dessert will save you time and money by using this simplistic approach.

Lastly, you should have and hire some good entertainment for the event. Here are a few suggestions: Gospel Band, Singer Songwriter, Comedian, Praise Dancers, Step Team, Drama Ministry and Mime Ministry. These are all great entertainment choices for the pastor appreciation banquet. And many of them are very reasonable in price especially if you book them early enough. Booking in advance may save you a few dollars here and there but pay attention to your overall budget as things can get out of hand quickly.

The pastoral appreciation banquet can be allot of fun as well as a night to remember. I highly suggest having a staff that can oversee this project and people that work well together. After all  we are all human and we all know sometimes personalities can clash if you put the wrong people to work together. It is best to select a group of people that either has worked together in the past or select a group of people that you already know can get the job done in a timely fashion.

Pastor Anniversary Pastor Appreciation Love Offering

The pastor is a very integral member of the church ministry. Their main goal is to lead and instruct the membership from an earthly to heavenly eternal life. Most pastors love God to the point that they will do whatever they can to ensure this transition. There are many pastors that do not receive an adequate salary or compensation and volunteer their services for the good of mankind.
One of life's most difficult jobs is being a pastor. The office of being a pastor is a selfless act shared with the congregation week by week. Each week a sermon is prepared with an underlying message to help assist and encourage the church members. This is often referenced as spiritual food for the soul, so you may remain spiritually strong in your earthly life. Every now and then your pastor needs to be considered for the exceptional work they have accomplished.
Often times, as members we tend to give the pastor more grief than anything, when in fact they need just as much encouragement as the rest of us. After all, they are human and will experience the same struggles and hardship that life has to offer. Being a pastor is not all glitz and glamour, it takes hard work and serious commitment to lead people.
Giving a love offering during the pastor anniversary could be the reward or encouragement that he or she needs. I do not mean just a simple pass around the offering plate as we do this every Sunday. But a sacrificial love offering that is prepared especially for him and his family. Doing so will allow him to do something special like take his family on vacation or take a getaway weekend with his spouse.
Think of it as a light Christmas gift that can benefit his or her family. Just think about it from their perspective. It takes persistence to preach and expound the word of God week after week after week. And I am sure that many pastors feel like their words fall on deaf ears. Encouraging your pastor with an annual celebration will definitely encourage him or her and their ministry. Some churches have a pastor anniversary, and some churches have a pastor appreciation. What you call the celebration is really up to the church and the pastor. God will lead your in the direction He wants you go in.
Remember, the offering is not about just monetary provisions, consider other needs such as: pantry foods, a new shirt and tie, handkerchiefs, or a new briefcase. Know your pastors taste in clothes and accessories. Don't just give money; give a gift as well to let the man or woman of God know how much you care. Try to provide gifts according to their needs rather than trying to impress him or her.
The bible says in the New International Version: Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. This principle can be applied in our everyday life as we should give with a cheerful spirit.

Pastor Appreciation

If the Pastor at your church does a great job of taking care of the congregation, you may want to consider showing him how thankful you are with a pastor appreciation service. Pastor appreciation day is the perfect time that you and the other members of your congregation can get together and plan something really special for your pastor.
A pastor's job goes a lot further than just showing up at church for Sunday service. A pastor's job never ends. When he is not in front of his congregation, he is traveling to and from the hospitals and nursing homes. He is making sure that all of the members of his congregation who are sick still have a spiritual uplifting. When people are not feeling well, a visit from their pastor can make them feel better.
Pastors also have the spiritual responsibility of consoling others when they have lost a loved one. This in itself is a stressful task, but you will always be able to find a good pastor at the funeral home or at the home of the one who has suffered the loss. The pastor is trying to insure that they are going to be alright dealing with their current difficulties.
A good pastor makes himself available to the members of his congregation at the drop of a hat. It is a heart driven goal for him to be able to be a leader and an example for his local church members.
Finances can be a great burden for a pastor to carry also; he is solely responsible for the financial status of his church. In the hard economic times, he may have to lead many more fund raisers than he did in the previous years. He might have to spend more time working with the youth and young adults of his church, raising much needed money to insure that the youth have a place to go during the summer months like summer camp or vacation bible school. A good pastor will make sure that all of the children in the youth group at this church are able to attend and for that, he deserves to be appreciated.
You can rely on your pastor to pick you up when you are feeling down, he can send your spirits soaring just when you thought you were spiritually dead. He keeps everyone in the church abreast of what is going on in the community. He performs marriage ceremonies as well as funeral services. He performs baptisms, christenings and he hosts many functions at the church. It is a part of his job to help keep the church growing successful by doing all sorts of things to increase the membership.
Let your Pastor know how much you appreciate how much he does for your church, your family and your community by honoring him on Pastor Appreciation Day. You may want to consider having a luncheon or a dinner in his honor. You can plan a pastor appreciation banquet in his honor where everyone can dress in their best garments. You may elect to give separate gifts or you may give one big community gift. Whatever you decide to do for your pastor's gift remember your pastor deserves a time of appreciation.

The Pastor's Anniversary - Celebrating the Vision

The Pastor's Anniversary is an event designed for church members to celebrate the pastor's vision for ministry and for the local body where he serves. It has been stated that the job of a pastor is revered as one of the greatest jobs in society, for it's the pastor who prepares you for the "life after" and watches for your soul. Many churches recognize the hard work and dedication of its leaders and welcome a time to officially say thank you for dedicated service to the ministry and membership.
In taking this time out, we are acknowledging his obedience to the call of this particular work and this congregation of souls. It is not a light responsibility nor is it as glamorous as it seems. It is a hearty and unyielding burden that exemplifies his love for God, his passion for Holiness and his heart for service in the kingdom. Every year that we go higher, it is because he answered this calling years ago.
The focal point of the Pastor's Anniversary is to highlight the leader's tenure as pastor and years of service to the pastoral ministry. While there are a number of ways and a number of events that can be planned to celebrate the leaders, this celebration should be a grand occasion. It should be well planned and should provide an opportunity for involvement of the entire congregation. Since we live in the society of Mega churches with Mega Ministries, representation from each ministry during the planning process can prove to be a plus and will definitely lighten the load of responsibility. The planning process should be approached in the spirit of excellence and from the standpoint that the leadership of the church deserves our best celebration; for the scripture declares that the Elder who rules well is worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the gospel.

Pastor Anniversary Bible Scriptures and Anniversary Themes

Creating a pastor anniversary theme can be intimidating, overwhelming and sometimes over thought. Selecting a theme for your pastor is nothing more than creating a sentence based on the direction or progression of his ministry. The theme should also have some type of deep meaning in some cases, with a clever underlining thought.
First, let's discuss where to get theme ideas from that will help you create the theme for your pastor's anniversary. Firstly, I always look in the Holy Bible as there are countless examples of themes for a pastor. The idea is to pick a scripture that has a word of encouragement and direction from God. Not every scripture is the same and not every scripture communicates the message that is needed to convey the overall thought of the message.
Here is a list of scriptures that directly speak about honoring your pastor:
  • Jeremiah 3:15- And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

  • Ephesians 4:11- And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ

  • I Thessalonians 5:12-13- And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

  • I Timothy 5:17- Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine.

  • Hebrews 13:17- Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
Using the wording within the scripture you can create topics or themes that will be more than appropriate for celebrating your pastor's anniversary.
Here is a List of example pastor anniversary & pastor appreciation themes that was created using the wording in the scriptures.
  • Jeremiah 3:15- Honoring Our Pastor's Spiritual Knowledge and Earthly Understanding.
  • Ephesians 4:11- Perfecting the Saints for the Work of the Ministry.
  • I Thessalonians 5:12-13 - Celebrating the Laborer that Dwells Among Us.
  • I Timothy 5:17-Giving Our Pastor Double Honor for His Labor in the Word.
  • Hebrews 13:17- Recognizing the Leadership that Watches Over Our Souls.
With just a little creative thinking you can create a theme for your pastor's appreciation service, day or month. There are other ways to come up with a theme, you can use titles from: songs, books, movies, scriptures or even famous quotes by legendary people. There are many ways to create the perfect theme for your pastor you just have to be creative and put a little work into it.
Here is a list of example pastor anniversary & pastor appreciation themes that was created using songs, books, movies, scriptures and even quotes.
  • Spiritual Guidance That Propels Us Forward
  • The Audacity of Faithful Leadership
  • Sacred Teaching for Earthly Living
  • Divine Council for the Multitude of People

Pastor Anniversary Programs

Programs for Pastor Anniversary

pastor anniversary program
Printed programs for the Pastor Anniversary will complete the overall theme for the scheduled events of celebration. There are many things that you can include into the official program to make this keepsake one to remember. Using a pastor anniversary program template will make this process very easy to complete and print.

The pastor anniversary program Layout is pretty much straight forward which should include: Cover Art Work, Pastor Biography and a Order of Service. These are the standard components that most programs have. However, there are many other components that are just as important as those mention above that should also be given some consideration for inclusion.

The pastor anniversary poem which is highly searched for in Google Search everyday is an important element that can be printed right on the back cover of the program. This is considered to be a poem tribute to the pastor and his wife. There aren't many poems out there that cover the pastor anniversary topic but there are general thank you poems that you can convert to your topic. This involves a little work and a little creativity and in the long run you will be glad you did.

The Members Page
The church as a whole is like a real family and a great idea for the program bulletin would be to have a members page. On this page the members of the church can congratulate their pastor, post pictures and photographs and extend their well wishes. If the program layout is tabloid or 11X17 we recommend using one full sheet to allow space for everyone to acknowledge their gratitude.

The Family Page
Most Pastors are married and have families that accompany them in the ministry. The family page is dedicated for the family members to express their congratulatory statements and extend their pleasantries. This page could include photographs of the family, thank you statements and well wishes. The family may also wish to extend a tribute poem to the pastor.

The Ministry Page
The church at large may have many ministries in the ministry. It is a good idea that each ministry shows representation within the pastor anniversary program. These departments include:
  • Sunday School
  • Children’s Ministry
  • Women’s Ministry
  • Men’s Ministry
  • Music Ministry
  • Pastor Aide Committee
  • Ministers and Elders
  • Deacon Board
  • Evangelist Board
  • Outreach ministry
  • Singles Ministry
  • Foreign Mission

There are many more that could be listed here but I am sure you get the picture. Each ministry should be represented within the program with a salute to the pastor.

The Pastor's Bio
The Pastor’s Biography is a must have component for inclusion into the program. His life achievements and Church History should be highlighted in this section of the program. There is an array of topics that you can discuss in the biography and it is important to list as much as you can about the Man of God. The job of the pastor is often taking so lightly and in many people eyes its all glitz an glamour. Well, its not. In fact it is the total opposite and it takes a very dedicated person to be a pastor.

The printed program is a great tool that will give clear instructions and help facilitate the pastor anniversary service. It answers the most common questions and it will allow everyone to follow along and keep up with the scheduled events. You can also list any information that may follow the official service that may be schedule like a dinner or gathering at a local restaurant.

Pastor Anniversary Celebration

Pastor Appreciation - Celebrating the Man or Woman of God!

pastor anniversary, pastor appreciation

The church today celebrate our leaders for all the spiritual guidance and leading they provide to our congregations. Some churches have adopted an entire month of celebration while others celebrate just a few days each year. Whatever choice your church makes it is important not to forget our pastors and spiritual leaders as they watch over our souls.

Why Celebrate Your Pastor?

The office of pastor is a very hard occupation that requires thorough training, in many cases schooling and a real prayer life. This requires a dedicated balance in life for anyone called to become a pastor. Once you've completed your natural schooling and learning the spiritual side of this occupation begins by taking on the responsibility of watching over souls.

Many pastors have long hours during the day as the job itself is extremely demanding at times. In many cases the pastor is the one who visits the sick and shut-in and prays tirelessly for those he or she is watching over. At other times the pastor has to balance the many engagements that include: weddings, funerals, bible study, church services, Sunday school and revivals just to name a few. This demanding schedule also includes being a spouse, a parent, a family member and friend to a multitude of people. These are the reasons why we should always take time to celebrate our pastors as it is more than just glitz and glamour. It is a real job with real responsibilities and all the task that you can throw in from Sunday to Sunday.

Pastor Anniversary Preparation and Ideas

In order to have a successful event it's best to get everyone involve. You can mail out invitations to active and non-active members inviting them to attend the event. You can have a flyer designed and list all the pertinent information about the event such as date, time and location. The church secretary should have a members list that include addresses of all active and non-active members in the congregation. It is a good practice to communicate with all members of the congregation as most will accept your invitation if one is made. Another good form of communication for exposure would be to place an ad in your local newspaper. For much broader exposure writing a press release would give your promotion the reach it needs.

There are a number of free services that you can use to promote the pastor's anniversary beginning with an email campaign. This will require a digital flyer that can be emailed as a invitation. The digital flyer can be placed on Facebook, Myspace, and the Church Website. Once you have the flyer in place online you can Tweet the link to the flyer to all those individuals that follow your group or church. You can Tweet the all the promotional links you create to using Twitter.com. Most people use Facebook on a regular basis so having the digital flyer shared on Facebook is a great idea. If you have the means to create a promotional video then YouTube is the best place to submit your video. All of these measures will ensure that you message gets heard!

The Pastor Anniversary Celebration

Celebrating your pastor should be a collective effort by the entire congregation that he or she serves. The members can assign a team of individuals that work well to together to officiate the anniversary projects. The pastor anniversary is often referred to as the annual celebration after the pastor has been installed by the official church members. This event should be carefully planned and structured so that all members can take part in it.

There are many creative events that can go into the anniversary celebration as a whole. You can plan a formal banquet, bring in a popular guest speaker, have a special event night or day, and have fund raisers to help with any expenses. You can have as lavish event as you want or just have a dedicated day for this purpose and occasion. Whatever celebratory events you come up with it is always best to get as much input from the congregation as possible. It is also a good idea to know your pastors taste in things as you do not want to plan a concert when he would have preferred an elegant banquet.

Programs for Pastor Anniversary

Programs for Pastor Anniversary

pastor anniversary program template

Celebrating your pastor and wife with an annual pastor's anniversary celebration is by far the type of encouragement that the pastor truly needs. Many people think that being a pastor is a glamorous job or profession but anyone who really knows the life of a leader will say otherwise. There are many things that you should consider when planning an anniversary for the man of God. There is one topic I'd like to discuss in this article that will help make your event a total success - the anniversary programs.

Over the years I've had the opportunity to design many publications for Churches, Ministries and Organizations. This is where I learned how important it is to have quality programs for your events. The program can communicate and inform in many ways offering valuable information to the congregation. The programs for the pastor anniversary should not be overlooked or minimized in any way. The print medium has many features that can be utilized in communicating any important information. This information includes but is not limited to the date, time, place, directions, special announcements, instructions, request, acknowledgments and provisions.

Pastor anniversary program templates can make your life a little easier, from the design aspect, as all the work is already done for you. This takes the learning curve out of the equation and allow you to simply edit a professionally designed program that will not only look good but allow you to complete this task without breaking the bank. Pastor anniversary programs are relatively inexpensive and are available in formats that you are already familiar with. No design experience is necessary but you get a professionally designed publication that the congregation will be proud to have.

The pastor anniversary program can be coordinated to match the colors of the ministry or selected by knowing your pastors favorite colors. A good anniversary template will allow you to add a photograph of your pastor as well as memorable moments in the ministry. You should have the ability to edit all the text on the program as well as change the color of the text. Pastor anniversary programs should also be easy to edit, personalize and or customize by anyone familiar with  desktop publishing.

There are many ways to utilize the program, here is a list of things that you can include in the program for your pastor:

  1. Have a Thank You Poem written in honor of your pastor, thanking him or her for their spiritual leadership.
  2. Include photos for a photo collage marking memorable times in the ministry for your pastor.
  3. Have the pastors biography professionally written by a hired writer. A professional writer can embellish the biography through research and articulate the words that needs to be present in the pastors bio.
  4. Create a members page where the congregation at large can express their sentiments through little write ups that can be included in the program.
  5. Highlight the pastor's family and wife with a family page. This page can be dedicated for the family only. You can add pictures, write-ups, poems and anything of sentimental value.
  6. Advertisements: to help raise money for printing you can sell ad space to local businesses in the area. You can also sell advertising space to members in the church that have small businesses.
  7. Have your pastors photo taken professionally by a photographer. Every pastor needs a professional picture of themselves taken in their official ministerial garments. Having a professional photograph of your pastor on the front cover adds a real touch of class in the quality of the final document.
  8. Church Letter: have a letter written by the church secretary on behalf of the congregation expressing the sincere thanks for all the spiritual teaching and leadership.

Exactly Why Do We Celebrate the Pastor Anniversary

 Majesty Pastor Anniversary Program

When a church installs a Pastor to oversee the congregation there is generally an installation service. This is an official service which includes the congregation and higher ranking officials to perform the service. The anniversary date of this service is generally one year from this date or close to it. This article will explain why we celebrate the Pastor Anniversary to begin with.

When a Pastor is installed into a church he/she is taking an oath to look after or oversee the congregation of the church as a unit. This responsibility in my opinion is one of the greatest responsibilities man can accept. He/She is accepting the responsibility to nurture the spirit man of a person. As the spirit man grows through the pastors teaching, the natural man will flourish with knowledge and understanding. This process is just like a birthday in the fact that each year you get older, you get wiser and understand more about life.

The spiritual side of celebrating a Pastor Anniversary should not be viewed as a time to just give the pastor some money and gifts. But rather a time where the congregation as a whole celebrates what God has given them, in the form of a pastor. Each member of the church should take honor in knowing that their being taught Godly principles that will ultimately make life better. As your spirit man grows so does the natural man and for that reason is a time to celebrate. Celebrate with your pastor the growing experience as he or she is the servant that nourishes your soul. Each year take pride in knowing that you've gotten wiser, smarter and your decision making is better overall.

The natural side of celebrating a Pastor Anniversary will include physical gifts, money and accolades giving honor where honor is due. Each year when we celebrate a birthday most of us get a gift or card from someone, with a little something in it. You celebrate in the natural of getting one year older, one year wiser. The pastor anniversary has the same principle behind it but a much greater meaning in front of it. There is a spiritual aspect to celebrating our pastors in the natural. We celebrate ourselves in the spiritual during the pastor's anniversary. And we all know that there is a greater blessing in giving than receiving. I personally believe that there is a greater blessing for those who blesses God's chosen vessels.

The pastor anniversary should be celebrated with Godly principles not material things. We as a Christian should allow God to get the glory out of everything we do. We should celebrate them knowing that we are truly the real beneficiary of the whole matter. God chose them to watch over us and protect us from all danger, naturally and spiritually. God gave them the power and the anointing to come against anything that may hinder our walk with Him (Our Creator).

If your church or ministry has planned this event out of formality I would suggest that you tap into the greater spiritual meaning. So often we as Christians miss the bigger picture because we concern ourselves with the natural elements. We dilute our blessings by putting a number on it or tradition. I encourage you to honor your pastor from your heart not your wallet. Pray and seek God on how to be a blessing to your pastor because there may be other needs outside of money and gifts.
