Pastor Anniversary Pastor Appreciation Love Offering

The pastor is a very integral member of the church ministry. Their main goal is to lead and instruct the membership from an earthly to heavenly eternal life. Most pastors love God to the point that they will do whatever they can to ensure this transition. There are many pastors that do not receive an adequate salary or compensation and volunteer their services for the good of mankind.
One of life's most difficult jobs is being a pastor. The office of being a pastor is a selfless act shared with the congregation week by week. Each week a sermon is prepared with an underlying message to help assist and encourage the church members. This is often referenced as spiritual food for the soul, so you may remain spiritually strong in your earthly life. Every now and then your pastor needs to be considered for the exceptional work they have accomplished.
Often times, as members we tend to give the pastor more grief than anything, when in fact they need just as much encouragement as the rest of us. After all, they are human and will experience the same struggles and hardship that life has to offer. Being a pastor is not all glitz and glamour, it takes hard work and serious commitment to lead people.
Giving a love offering during the pastor anniversary could be the reward or encouragement that he or she needs. I do not mean just a simple pass around the offering plate as we do this every Sunday. But a sacrificial love offering that is prepared especially for him and his family. Doing so will allow him to do something special like take his family on vacation or take a getaway weekend with his spouse.
Think of it as a light Christmas gift that can benefit his or her family. Just think about it from their perspective. It takes persistence to preach and expound the word of God week after week after week. And I am sure that many pastors feel like their words fall on deaf ears. Encouraging your pastor with an annual celebration will definitely encourage him or her and their ministry. Some churches have a pastor anniversary, and some churches have a pastor appreciation. What you call the celebration is really up to the church and the pastor. God will lead your in the direction He wants you go in.
Remember, the offering is not about just monetary provisions, consider other needs such as: pantry foods, a new shirt and tie, handkerchiefs, or a new briefcase. Know your pastors taste in clothes and accessories. Don't just give money; give a gift as well to let the man or woman of God know how much you care. Try to provide gifts according to their needs rather than trying to impress him or her.
The bible says in the New International Version: Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. This principle can be applied in our everyday life as we should give with a cheerful spirit.
A great website to consider for pastor anniversary program is the Pastor Anniversary Site. We have a great collection of Print Ready program templates to choose from.
